Bkk Haul #7: Issey Miyake
here we are at the last installment of the bkk haul.
i got a bag from issey miyake bao bao collection.
this bag is so difficult to photograph, so i ended up googling for an image of it.
i think this is the exact same size as mine and mine is in black too.
reasons why i bought this bag:
1. i was getting irritated that i wasn't buying as much as i expected.
or rather, there wasn't as much for me to buy as i imagined.
2. i wanted to get a fake of this when i saw this multiple of times on the streets in hong kong.
yes, a fake.
from time to time, i would have the urge to buy a fake.
but i always end up not buying them because they are just not worth the money.
if you're curious, a fake one costs around $50 in ladies street in hong kong.
and they have an array of colours.
3. i saw issey miyake store in siam discovery and was like "the bag is actually even better than what i thought it was!"
even though i did check out the store in sg when i came back from hong kong,
the only designs/ colours left were those limited edition kind and they were seriously not up my street.
4. the bag can be shaped in different ways.
you can google images of them if you wish.
of course, these shapes will barely stay in place after you place stuff in it.
it's all for the sake of fun.
yes, so that's how this bag came back home with me.
since it's the last post, i may as well just post that few pathetic photos which winnie took during the trip, of food.
according to my bro, this was the first time he tried A&W.
like.. what?!
i really am not a fan of floats of any kind.
to me, it's mad disgusting and messy with the ice cream in your drink.
but, i did think that the vanilla ice cream on its own was so good.
we decided to let our legs rest at haagen- dazs.
i actually discovered two nice ice cream flavours in bkk,
one being macadamia nut and the other being cookies and chocolate.
a little digression:
we had japanese buffet dinner at oishi grand in siam discovery.
this was a recommendation of huat jiujiu and it proved to be one of the best meals we had in bkk.
if my memory serves me right, we paid around $30 per person.
sadly, i do not have any pictures to share because we were busy resting and eating.
that was when i chanced upon haagen-dazs macadamia nut.
i seriously had enough of thai food for maybe 1/2 yr even though we didn't actually eat that much of thai food there.
when i had lunch with zei that day,
he told me he was craving for spicy food.
the first thought that came into my mind was "omg. no thai food please!"
i obviously didn't voice that out.
thank god he didn't suggest any thai food.
if not, i could have died.
lastly!
this cup noodles is right up my alley!
it's just OMG nice!!
both the noodles and the soup are delicious.
everything about this cup noodles is just so damn good!
best of all, it has no lemongrass in it!
i'm regretting like crazy now all because i didn't manage to buy any back home.
IF i ever go back there, i think i would buy a box of it.
okay, maybe make it two boxes.
that brings us to the end of my bkk trip and hauls.
i hope these posts have been somewhat enjoyable.
perhaps..
just perhaps, i can do a hong kong one even though it's been so long since i came back.
some of the stuff i've bought have yet to be used.
that's that.
and, happy 2013!
may 2013 be a fruitful and desirable year for all of us!

Bkk haul #6: Bulk purchases
let's get started on the 6th post on my bkk haul.
i broke them down into mini posts so that it would be easier to read, i hope.
first off, bacca, winnie and my bro went a tad crazy over at topman.
i know right?
who the hell goes crazy over topman in bkk?
the three of them.
random tops/ tees from chatuchak.
honestly.
it's really worth waking up early just to go there.
it's best to go early in the morning when the crowd isn't too overwhelming and the weather isn't too unbearable yet.
the stalls apparently open around 10am.
we spent like $80 on all these "heineken" tees.
that's a whole lot of them.
again, from chatuchak.
now, on to the food.
these can hardly compare to what we usually buy when we're overseas.
i know that some of the stuff that we bought are easily available locally.
but we thought that if even they were just a tad cheaper,
we would just let ourselves lose our mind.
by the way, my bro's friends went bkk and came back with two boxes of tao kae noi seaweeds.
we're talking about BOXES here.
is that making sense??
NO.
but who cares?
just enjoy your holiday and not think if you're being sane or practical.
lastly, lap chiong [sausage], ga na [olive] and even cai po from chinatown.
all these were orders placed by ah gong and ah ma.
talking about chinatown,
i shall share some of the photos taken by winnie of the market place.
at that instant, i think we were the only tourists there, going from stall to stall asking for cai po and ga na.
thank god we were able to understand and speak a little teochew.
otherwise, we would may end up going around saying something like "excuse me, cai po krup?"
alright, that's that.
till tomorrow~

Bkk haul #5: Miscellaneous
here's the fifth part to the bkk haul series.
i got a bit of everything in different places.
1| hello kitty mirror from Zen departmental store in centralworld
this serves as a backup.
i've got a similar one with pink ribbon which i got from osaka.
till now, i've yet to use it because it's just way too pretty and i've already "spoilt" one.
2| hello kitty iphone 5 case from MBK
this is cute, isn't it?
3| ballpoint pens from muji
seriously, these write so smoothly.
my old one has already ran out of ink and i can't find it in our local muji stores.
4| bangle from vinci
just a random bangle.
5| mario iphone 5 case from MBK
i had to get it despite its price.
6| friendship bands from chatuchak
they are honestly cheap and come in a wide variety of colours and designs.
i must say, chatuchak is a must good place in bkk because it was a pretty good experience despite the freaking hot weather.
also, don't miss the coconut ice cream.
that's my only regret for the trip.
i didn't have the guts to try it for fear of a upset stomach.
it looked oh-so-good!
7| belkin car charger from loft in siam discovery
i just got this because i needed one for my car.
obviously.
but why do i have to get one there?
it just happened.
*shrugs*

Bkk haul #4: Bershka
today's entry is kinda boring because only one item is being featured.
that, is my new clutch from bershka.
i bought it on impulse in bkk, not knowing that it's available here.
anyway.
i was convinced to buy it after winnie told me it's very nice and i do like the studs and the tassles.
i supposed i will get some use out of it.
i hope.
because this is such a short post,
i thought perhaps i should show you guys the hotel we stayed in:
Centre Point Petchburi 15
the hotel is like a 5-10 minutes walk to platinum shopping mall.
apparently platinum is the highlight of any bkk trip,
but, not for us.
the room is like a service apartment with a well equipped kitchen area.
also, it's very spacious.
overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay with nice buffet breakfast.
that's all for today.

Bkk haul #3: Cath Kidston
third installment: cath kidston
we were so excited to spot cath kidston in bkk.
i think the first time we saw it in a departmental store, we spent like at least 30 minutes there.
i really wanted to get one of their bags.
but, those fakes are so rampant here.
= =
i ended up getting:
1| pouch
2| luggage tag
3| card holder
honestly, they may be deemed as nonsense.
but surely they will be put to great use one fine day.
right?
till then~

Bkk haul #2: Makeup
here's the second installment of my bkk haul: makeup.
1| garnier bb eye roll-on
i THINK i heard good stuff about this and i bought this for the sake of buying at boots.
2| ysl glossy stain corail aquatique 07
i've been wanting to try one of these since they were launched.
this is a pretty nude colour which sunya also has.
3| dior addict ultra-gloss in sari pink 576
4| maybelline baby lips in pink lolita
5| catrice nail polishes in ashley[grey] and it's rambo no 5[army green]
i got these at ZEN at centralworld for around $5 each.
surprisingly, they do apply nicely.
6| suqqu balancing cheeks in mukuge 02
this, is by far the most expensive blusher in my collection.
i was so excited after learning that there is suqqu in bkk from sunya.
i really wanted to buy its cheek brush.
but omg.
the cheek brush retails for over $200.
if i were to buy a brush this ex, i think i would rather invest that money in hakuhodo brushes.
anyway, so my plan to buy the cheek brush fell through.
but.
i needed to get something from suqqu.
that's how i ended up with the blusher.
it definitely looks bleah in the photo and in the pan.
but such dusty, mauvey colour is my favourite kind of cheek colours recently.
7| majolica majorca cream de cheek in RD 411 kiichigo cream
i forgot about this when i took the photo.
well...
anyhow, i bought this after reading the review over
here.
honestly, this product is very easy to use and really does give that natural kind of look.
i would say this is more of a cheek stain than cream because the texture is very liquidy.
if you're interested in getting a cheek stain, i would recommend this.
a word of advice, do not apply directly onto your cheeks.
it's best to blend it out a little on the back of your hands first.
that's that.

BKK haul #1: Skincare
so, it's christmas.
merry christmas to everyone!
i thought i would share what i had hauled from my recent bangkok trip.
mm.. i don't think i got a ton because the shopping in bangkok isn't exactly my cup of tea.
but.
i think i still managed to get some decent stuff.
those that i planned on featuring will come in a few posts and today's post will be on the skincare i've gotten.
i was looking forward to boots in bkk and no.7 which is found in it.
but sad to say, i didn't get any no.7 product.
anyhow, i decided to try some boots in house products.
1| soltan head and hair dry-touch transparent sunscare spray
this has spf 30 and i've been looking for a sunscreen for the hair.
2| lipbalm
i bought this for the sake of buying something.
and it turned out to be AMAZING at such an affordable price point.
i love this!
3| lavender and lilac body scrub
i'm just obsessed with lavender scented products,
so i had to get this one to try out.
moving on to stuff from dfs.
1| shu uemura cleansing beauty oil
i bought this at the departure hall because apparently it can't be found in the arrival hall.
2| sk ii treatment clear lotion
3| sk ii facial treatment essense
this is a HUGE bottle (330ml) and priced only at $218 at dfs.
definitely a bargain!
that's that.
happy holidays!

i decided to try the bellabox monthly subscription last month because there was a free anna sui lipstick thrown in for the first XX uob card members.
here's the samples in mine for november.
- l'oreal professionnel mythic oil nourishing oil
- l'oreal professionnel absolut cellular repair shampoo
- benta berry G-1 creme hydratante regulatrice
- storyderm silk mask
- savoir faire mini lipstick
- a random pastel pink moustache necklace
honestly speaking, i don't think that it's worth paying $19.95 for a box of 5 samples.
i'm actually someone who don't try out samples most of the time, unless i'm VERY interested in the product.
so basically, for the samples i've gotten this month,
the product that i will definitely try is the mythic oil because i'm into hair oil.
i'm pretty sure i wouldn't get much use out of the face cream and lipsticks i got.
speaking of which, i ought to show you the lipsticks and the swatches.
i'm not the least bit thrilled by the anna sui lipstick.
it's just a shimmery, clear lipstick.
wow.
= =
by the way, the highlight of the box?
the pink moustache necklace.
like huh??!!
anyhow, i've already cancelled the subscription.
oh, and threw the ridiculous necklace away.

i just have to blog about this.
it's so ridiculous.
i came across this seller selling goyard bags on qoo10.
the price?
$120.
so... do you think what you're paying for is an authentic bag?
what was interesting is that the seller put a note saying 'high quality bag. please don't compare the quality to a low-price product.'
wow.
just who is comparing who to a low-price product?
the seller claims that the bags are bought at a foreign outlet mall and that explains why the bags are cheap.
yet another wow.
since when goyard has an outlet?
they hardly even have sales in their stores.
anyhow, i don't see the point of buying fakes.
and what's more?
you get suck in by the A+++++++ grade that comes with the fake.
and a A+++++++++ grade fake can cost you a few hundreds even.
what's the point?
no matter how real looking your fake is,
it's still a fake.
what i'm driving at is a huge NO to fakes!
you're just wasting your money.
well.
in case you beg to differ and are interested in the goyard bags,
you can try searching on qoo10.
the seller's name is gpgp4u11.
by the way, he sells marc by marc jacobs and mcm bags too.
