today was such a shiok day because i basically spent it shopping.
just had to shop today.
super in the mood for that.

anyhow, i started off the day by going for some jap buffet lunch with winnie at hereen.
like that lor..

checked out the alt or something at hereen.
mm.. the third level was fun with many beauty stuff.
just plain shiokness browsing through them.
though i doubt i would actually buy stuff from there.

the concept there is pretty much like that in the city super in hong kong which sells all sorts of stuff.
from electronics to pet stuff to beauty stuff.

basically after alt, we shopped around randomly.
we went to the bape store in mandarin gallery to ask about the upcoming sanrio baby milo collection.

and i've already sort of reserved 2 items.
a mini pouch which is sort of meant for winnie and a mini tote for myself.

seriously the mini tote is mega cute!

the drum bag is another mega cute one.
but seriously i doubt i would even dare to carry tt on the streets.
anyhow, it isn't available in sg.

the thing is because this collection is supposedly limited edition,
so even if i "reserve" the stuff, i may not get them if say i go down very late on the day it's launched.

dumb right?
then what's the bloody point of reserving?

you know... i'm into grabbing for limited edition stuff.

met muay fan like around 10pm at macs for a super late dinner and gossiped for so damn long.
we usually wouldn't leave till it's past midnight.

anyway, today is winnie's birthday.
but i felt as though it was more of my birthday.
simply because i really enjoyed myself today.

retail therapy rocks big time!

this time from marc by marc jacobs.
mmm.. this is actually from the s/s collection.
but those from the f/w collection really aren't nice.

and.
the thing is i don't exactly use it to put cosmetic.
the very most cosmetics i have in there would probably be a lipstick, an eyeliner and an undereye concealer.
that's all.

as for the jurlique cleanser, this is probably the at least 5th or 6th one i've used.
been using it for the past 4 years.

need to order some nars stuff online for both muay fan and myself.

actually i wanted to do this entry like last week or something.
but i was waiting for this!



air mail from sunya!

the story goes like this..

i 拜托 sunya to help me get nars blush/ bronzer duo, but sephora there kept running out of stocks for the shades i want.
and we're like talking about running out of stores for MONTHS.

in the end, we both got pissed off and decided to replace that duo with a nar multiple tint which was something new and limited edition.

so, that day when i was in kl [i went there for the weekends] and i got a sms from sunya telling me that she finally bought the duo!
mad happy that day alright!

i've no idea why nars don't manufacture more of this duo.
i can't find it in japan, hong kong and even online, excluding nars website which i can't purchase anything from.

anyway, this duo is mad 强手!
sunya told me that there were only 4 of them on the shelves in sephora and she quickly got one.
by the time she was done like 30 minutes later,
there wasn't any more left.



now..
can you understand why i am elated to get this duo in orgasm and laguna?

i do not know if anyone remember me saying that muay fan and i totally don't get what's the hype with orgasm because we both don't like blushes that are very shimmery.

but then again....
how can i not own something so iconic from nars??!
hence the choice to get this.



moving on.
the nars multiple tint in beverly hills is like mad sheer.
yes.. i know that this product is meant to be sheer.
but c'mon..
not sheer till this extent right?

nvm.
i've found a great way to use it and that is to layer orgasm over beverly hills.
the combo is CHIO de!

next.
got the mac mineralised blush in happy together from the latest in the groove collection.

actually i was going to pass on this entire collection but muay fan felt that this particular happy together was calling out to her.
夸张 not??
calling out to her leh!
and she isn't even a blush fanatic to speak of!

in the end, i got it too even though i didn't get wowed to that extent.
that's because there was once this particular blush which was supposedly calling out to her and i decided that she was mad to get it.
and now, i'm regretting like mad!

lesson learnt:
to play safe, just get any blush that is calling out to her!
do not beg to differ!

hahahaha.



next up is most of my haul from kl.
it's obvious that the main focus was to 扫 laura mercier stuff right?!

i didn't get THAT much.

here's the list:
1. foundation primer
probably the best i've tried so far.
and according to muay fan, it beats makeup forever hd primer.
i'm like supplying her with samples of it!

2. second skin cheek colour in fresh ginger
it's a pink nude with gold pearl.
i'm trying to expand the nude blush segment of my collection.

3. satin eye creme colour in stone suede for muay fan

4. translucent loose powder
again, love it!

5. silk creme foundation
i didn't plan to get this, but i got some vouchers to use at parkson beauty hall, hence this.

the thing was i asked for some samples of the foundation to try on the first day.
the SA, tiffany, gave me a generous amount.
tried it on the second day and i was sold and went back on the third day to get it.

now.
here's a little review of the silk creme foundation.
i am soooo loving it.
it's definitely a multi functional foundation.

[[plus point 1]]
i use it with my fingers to apply and the finish is superb.
not too matte, not too oily.

fyi: i hate my face to look dead matte.
i want semi matte, semi glowly!
that's what laura mercier gave me!

and because you can use your fingers, you save the money to buy brushes and the time to clean them.

[[plus point 2]]
the amount i use each time is mad little.
so, i think i'm going to be like squeezing about 1/2 for muay fan because i would never be able to finish it!

[[ plus point 3 ]]
you can use it as a concealer for dark circles, eye lids, pimples, pores and blah.
and that's because it provides medium to full coverage.

my recommendation?
apply little by little and dab more products on areas you want to conceal.

money saved on concealers!

[[ plus point 4 ]]
it doesn't feel/ look heavy with the correct application.

[[ plus point 5 ]]
you can skip setting it with loose powder!
money saved on loose powder!

[[ plus point 6 ]]
it's long lasting.
doesn't really 脱妆 or cake at the end of the day.
it simply adheres onto your skin very nicely.
if you do not get the meaning of caked, think cracks on the ground after an earthquake.

[[ plus point 7 ]]
it works well for sg climate.

yup.
the minus part?
it's a tad expensive..
with so much product in a tube [35ml], i guess it's justifiable.
but i wish they make like smaller tubes at smaller prices.

that's about all i got from laura mercier.
the SA, tiffany, at pavilion parkson was damn nice.
she was very friendly and her product knowledge was relatively good as well.

and...
she's very generous with samples!!
literally 有求必应!
that ought to be the way!

it's because she gave me the silk creme foundation that i got the chance to try it and eventually go back and purchase it.

i do not believe in buying a foundation without trying.
by trying, im not talking about trying over at counters.
that's just soooo not accurate.

it's best to try for at least 1 full day.
1 week would be the best!

back to the whole lot of samples/ freebies i got:
travel sized primer, foundations, satin eye creme colours, face polishes and mascara.

see the polident denture cleanser tablets in the above photo?
don't be mistaken.
my teeth are doing fine.

i got that at watsons in kl because the ones in sg don't carry small packs.
want to try and see if they do whiten nails as written in a local magazines.

complete blink and clean lens drop are a must when i go kl because watsons in sg don't carry these and they are freaking cheap in kl.
obviously i had to stock up on them!

lastly.

it's a mini fan!!

and it's pretty strong!

i passed by a pasar malam yesterday and stopped by specially to get candy floss for my bro because he LOVES them.

it so happened that i put it in my bag and met up with muay fan and blah and the candy floss turned from fluffy to flat.
haha.
he ate it anyway.

at that candy floss store, i spotted some diy 麦芽糖 and got them for myself.
i just whirled a chopstick round and round the 麦芽糖 till i got satisfied with the amount.

but damn.
the 麦芽糖 was like so damn soft that it was drooping everywhere.
had no choice but to stuff the entire thing into my mouth and finished it in like less than 5 minutes?

super no kick man!
highly prefer those harder kind my parents used to buy for my bro and i donkey years ago.

i love getting 麦芽糖 stuck between my teeth.
really get a hell out of trying to get it off my teeth!!

for the last day of our trip, we had bo lo buns and egg tarts from a nearby bakery for breakfast.
right after we bought them, we were eating them right outside the bakery.

know why?
because we wanted to taste if they were good!
if they were, we would immediately go back in and order some to bring back to sg.

that, was exactly what we did.
we ordered like dozens of bo lo buns and egg tarts, which we were supposed to collect in the afternoon.

to ifc at central because jie bing and ros wanted to go to the zara there for last minute shopping and bacca to the supermarket.

after getting some gou li drinks and chocolates from the supermarket,
we rushed back to tsim sha tsui for lunch at yet another 茶餐厅.
but this has got to be the nicest we had in hong kong.

after lunch, winnie and i went to sogo to get a bag for ah ma from... ANS.
hahahaha.
ans AGAIN.

whereas bacca and friends went to collect the egg tarts and bo lo buns from the bakery and also to go another to 2 bakeries that sell tasty pastries like 老婆饼.

we honestly bought truckloads of food.

all in all, the trip was seriously damn enjoyable.



lastly, here's a tip for anyone going to hong kong in the near future.
invest in an octopus card!
you can use it to take train, buses, ding ding trams, tram to the peak, ferries!
this can save you from queueing to get to certain places!

so.
octopus card is the card to get around hong kong!
