saw this new nrwzd video with the title 必學森林系彩妝 yesterday.
wasn't exactly interested initially, but i watched it eventually because i was kinda bored.

it turned out that 森林系彩妝 means having a very natural makeup look,
as though you're walking in the forest.
so natural that it makes people go "she's wearing makeup, but 又好像 not wearing."

the main points of this 森林系彩妝:
1. no obvious/harsh eyeliner
2. no falsies [if falsies is a must, choose those super natural kinds]
3. no harsh brows
4. no over concealing of imperfections

p/s: 森林系彩妝 isn't the same as 裸妆.

decided to have a go at this because it sounded mad easy and fuss free.



the minimal products used[ in the exact order they were used]:

1. shiseido sun protection eye cream
2. kose sekkisei sun protector [more on this later]
3. stila illuminating tinted moisturizer
4. laura mercier undercover [to conceal dark circles]
5. chanel natural finish pressed powder [to set the concealer only]
6. mac impeccable brow pencil in dirty blonde
7. bourjoirs volume clubbing mascara
8. mac beauty powder in shell pearl

this is from mac give me liberty of london collection and it had a supposedly soft launch on friday.

i was damn lucky to chanced upon it.
more on the buying part in another entry.

back to this.
the beauty powder isn't exactly a blusher.
of course you can use it as one, if you're fair enough.
because it applies pretty sheer and with a sheen.
you can also dust it all over your face for that glowy effect.

anyhow.
i didn't use any blush today.
merely dust this on my cheeks.
really love the sheen and very very subtle flush look it gives.

however.
it does accentuates your pores if you're not careful.

overall, i like this 森林系妝.
reasons being:
1. fuss free, easy
2. minimal products
3. don't look like you're got makeup on, unless someone scrutinizes your face and yet don't look as washed out, 没精神 as when you're 素颜.

when i met winnie for lunch today,
she said i really look like i didn't have any makeup on.
didn't even notice that i applied mascara.

hence i can say that this style is going to stay for some time.
at least a week that is.




now for the sunscreen.
i got this at metro because my usual beaute de kose one wasn't in stock.
decided to give this a try since it's a new whitening sunscreen [$46].

it comes free with a tiny whitening 2 way cake which i already gave ma.
and this 2 way cake is going to be launched soon, if i'm not wrong.

i finally decided that it's time to deep cleanse ALL my makeup brushes.
so i got this johnson's baby soft and shiny shampoo at watsons to do the job.

why?
i used it to apply nars exhibit a and left it there untouched for quite some time without cleansing it.
and now i can't get every bit of the colour off even after multiple washes.

and it's CUTE!

honestly, cleaning with my mac brush cleanser is so not enough.
even though i clean them pretty frequently with the brush cleanser,
i actually still had to spend at least 1/2 hour today cleaning all of them, especially those face brushes.

they are MAD dirty.
damn gross.

so, dear friends,
please at least deep cleanse your brushes [including those free brushes in palettes] at least once a month.

lastly.
i'm going to start typing my birthday post soon.
i did that that day, but blogger got screwed up and i ended up losing 80% of the completed entry.

it was so touching that i just couldn't stop crying when i hear the song or play the video.

so, i actually emailed sunya to tell her about the mv and stuff.
it happened that she knew of it beforehand.

then i went to bed and woke up feeling like FREAKING RIDICULOUSLY overjoyed.
because of a damn stupid dream.
again, i had to email sunya right away just to tell her that.

obviously, i subsequently told the rest of my friends about it.
and they all went = ="".

digress a little.

i was telling sunya i don't exactly care which part of the world she is in in the future.
because we're like so updated about each other's stuff and we email as though we're texting each other.
and of course, we reply at mega fast speed, that's unless if we're busy.

back to the day.

met up with muay fan in the morning and she gave me my surprise present.
seriously, i can only trust her to prepare a surprise for me.
her surprises are always FAB!



the surprise present:
- mac 188 brush, meant to be used for cheeks.
i've been lemming for this for the longest time!!!
this is by far my favouritest among the three.

muay fan had to play some guessing games because she was very worried that i would get it before she could give it to me.

- ysl blush in sable corail
she said that as a collector, i ought to have a variety of brands and colours.
that explains why she got this for me.
i tried it today and it's very nude a colour.
nice!

- chanel quadra eye shadow in mystic eyes
mmm..
eyeshadows are a must for the present.
she loves buying them for me, though she knows very well i hardly use them.
ha.

she also threw in an ed pinaud eyeshadow palette which came free with a magazine.
there was a huge hoo ha when the magazine was out on sale.
everyone was grabbing it just because of the palette.

also, a urban decay makeup remover which was a gift with purchase.

i didn't expect her to spend that much on my birthday.
so when it's her birthday, i'm going to go mia!
hahahaha..
just joking!

after which i met up with winnie and bacca because winnie wanted to get a itouch.
and just nice, shu umuera sent me a epicentre voucher.

yup.
i must say shu umuera birthday vouchers are all damn decent.
like.. they are something which i can/ will use,
instead of giving me a bunch of i- don't- know- what vouchers.

actually i did call up mac from time to time then to check if those collections i was aiming for were in town.
and i sort of knew that none was scheduled to launch.

but.
i still decided to walk to tangs just to check stuff out.

i saw the MAs packing the give me liberty of london stuff!!!

of course had to chiong up and asked if they were on sale.
and they were!
despite their official launch date being today [more on that later].

immediately call/sms muay fan to inform her of it!

bacca and winnie were just so amused that we two could get so high over makeup.

actually it didn't take us too long to decide what we wanted especially since we already did our "homework" way beforehand.
got kenneth to get our stuff and he was nice enough to inform us of the event that would be going on today at tangs orchard.

by right, the model's makeup should be done relatively similar to the one the poster girl is wearing.
i can't say the model's one is as fab.

i LOVE this.
with the stippling brush muay fan gave me, it gives me the one of the nicest flush look!

i know it's such a shocking pink.

it's either i go for very bold, bright colours or i go for very nudish, subtle colours.
hahaha.

my nail colour rocks!
but.
the photo captured it to be more coral-y than it is pink.
actually it's more of a hot pink colour.

here's what i used on my nails:

1. the face shop nail colour in PK 105
i think this was from muay fan.
and it surprises me with its easy-to-paint formula.
not all tfs nail lacquers are like this.

2. poshe treatment basecoat, which i got from PINC.

3. poshe fast drying topcoat, also from PINC.
when it says fast drying, it literally is FAST DRYING.
like.. within 5 minutes.

i don't do much waiting between coats and once i apply the topcoat,
i just got to stop all finger activities for that 5 minutes.
afterwhich, i can do pretty much anything.

it's MEGA AMAZING!

along with my nails is my favourite lavender aromatic room & pillow spray from lemongrass house [in 313].
nice smell~~~


p/s: i can't be bothered to retake the picture so that i get a more true colour reflection of my nail colour because i'm damn sleep now!

i meant to go get a facial done today.
but it ended being such a fucked up experience.

anyhow, the summary is that this "very nice" lady told me how bad my skin is..
given my age, my pores are mad fucking huge, my face is so saggy blah and blah.
she even advised me to stop spending money on branded goods and start investing in facials and treatments.

and she said that we can't exactly pin point how bad my skin is because i had on VERY THICK makeup.

what the fuck!
yours tons thicker than mine!

same goes for your HUMONGOUS PORES!

since she said that my skin appeared to be okay looking because of my VERY THICK makeup,
then i ought to just slap more foundations and correcting stuff on my face.

it came to a point that her friend couldn't take it anymore and said to the lady:
"excuse me.. i think my friend's skin is tons better than yours.
her skin is already considered pretty good for girls,
so if you're saying this, what are all the other girls with obvious skin problems supposed to do?

"btw.. i think you ought to go sign up for some makeup course.
honestly, your foundation looks mismatched and your makeup is like really thick and heavy."

and she sort of insisted that i asked the staff about it.

it turned out to be ture.
however those that came with the freebie was out of stock.
so i reserved a copy and picked it up today.

gosh.
i'm damn thankful that muay fan was that insistent that day.
because i've been wanting a bag organiser for damn long!

p/s: i can't stand bags that are disorganised!
your bags aren't exactly your rubbish bins which you just dump every other thing into.

how bad can it get?

WRONG!
it turned out to be DAMN BAD that i was cursing and swearing like hell.

i told that idiotic ass [i mean to be THIS mean, cause he totally ruined my day! and fringe!] that my fringe has got to be covering my brows.

with that, he went ahead and started his nonsense.
he, thought i wanted a slanted fringe when my previous one was nothing but straight cut.
so... that smart ass realised what i wanted was a straight cut,
he started correcting his mistakes.

what happened?
my fringe got even shorter.
it's above my brows and.. it's fucking not straight!
it's CROOOOOKED.

tmd.
i totally looked like i cut my own fringe.

i bet my fringe would have turned out TONS BETTER if i had simply put a bowl over my head and just cut it myself at home.
not joking here.

i really could feel my face turning real black.

after i got out of that damn salon,
i took out my mirror to check if i've got hair on my face.

FUCKER didn't have use the hairdryer to clear up those mess on my face.

seriously, i feel like crying whenever i see my fringe in the mirror.

moving on to the new mac collection:
MAC SPRING COLOUR FORECAST

this is actually launched exclusively at tangs orchard and vivo.
the rest of the stores would be launching next week if i'm not wrong.

as per normal, the main thing i'm looking out for in a collection would be the blushers.
this time round, four blush ombres are launched and these are something really new in mac.

also, the blush ombre in ripe peach is literally flying off the shelves.
you can't get a single pan on websites [not ebay] or at mac stores in other countries.

obviously i've got to lay my hands on one.



i've come to realise that for blushers,
swatching them on your hand isn't enough.
so i would try to have the MA to try them on my face.

since muay fan have been buying from kenneth,
i got him to try 3 blush ombres on me.

ha.
he's really very "winnie the pooh".
anyhow, he's quite nice and i suppose i shall look for him next time too.

btw.
the nail colour on my thumb is malibu peach which is part of this collection as well.
it's very nice and unique.
but.
i didn't buy it.

i way prefer essie tart deco.
which i just ordered.

the other blush ombre i got was in azalea bossom which is a light cool pink.
this is nice too, but ripe peach is still my favourite of the four.

i didn't get the other two because they kinda work better on darker skintones.
yesh.. so that's basically what i got.

so i got a mac blush palette.

this is closer to what it looks like in real life.
it's a beige-pink shade and both muay fan and i think it's damn lovely a colour.

also, i'm loving that lavender aromatic room & pillow spray which i got last week at 313.
whenever i spray it on my pillow,
i drift off to sleep much faster than before.
and i sure SLEEP LIKE A PIG.

fyi, people tend to either like lavender or rose, but hardly both.
