i had a REAL GREAT day.

finally started to use my jill stuart loose powder blush in cherry frost.
and that's after i bought it a year ago??

as to why i'm willing to use it today:
i saw on nrwzd that jill stuart is coming up with a brand new packaging for their loose powder blush.
and..

it's TO DIE FOR!!!
freaking pretty and princessy!

i've got to start using mine in order to have an excuse to get the new one when it's out.

anyway, the cherry frost colour is CHIO DAO~~~~~!!
but i must say it needs some bending and it's freaking easy to get out of hand.

yea.
having a nice blush on does brighten my day.

oh.
and i did a winked liner look today.

watched chipmunks with muay fan today.
made me REAL HAPPY seeing those chipmunks sing and shak their butts.
haha.

the last movie that left me feeling this happy was mama mia if i'm not wrong.

actually we thought of watching the treasure hunter.
but i really enjoyed watching the first sequel of chipmunks just last night.

you know..
i really hate it whenever i hear that "bad day" song.
it's like my day is already bad enough,
you don't exactly have to sing it out.

but.
when i saw the chipmunks sing that at the beginning of the movie,
i was like...
omg.
SO DAMN CUTE!!

no kidding.
i was smiling to myself.

out of the blue, the day wasn't that bad afterall.

think i really drove muay fan up the wall with my nonsense today.
i mean.. i grossed her out to the max!
was really high.

anyhow, muay fan had been a terrific friend today.

she was very amused by how i can have my wings without dirtying my hands.
ie. cutting them up with fork and knife.

i was like huh??
does that even sound that 厉害?

but her say is that she can never cut up her wings without making lots of noise or having bits of chicken flying everywhere.

hahahaha.
that's damn funny.

anyway.
another skill i've long "acquired":
peeling prawns with a fork and.. my mouth.
hahahahaha!

and that.
also amuses her like mad.

apparently she has never come across anyone who can have their wings and prawns without dirtying their hands like me.

please lor.

enough about food.

basically i bought a glass container to contain my brushes.
damn cheap.
only $5.90.

i got like damn inspired by how sephora displays their brushes.
with those little rounded beads to make them stand.

so...
i went in search of those beads.




this is like the closest kind i can find in art friend in bras basah ($10.90).
the main difference is that the ones i got are flat instead of round.
but well.. they work the same way.

anyhow, this is like so amazing.
i didn't know such flat "beads" can be used to stuff soft toys.

and here's the outcome.




really love my brushes to be organised this way because they can be spaced out.
kinda cleaner in a sense.

oh.
i just realised i could have tied a cutie ribbon around my new brush holder.
shall do it later.

since i've got a picture on my brushes,
i shall share a little on them.

look at the last row of brushes.
the one that has white and black bristles??
yea..
that's a stippling brush [mac 187] which i love.

reasons:
- can use it to apply liquid foundation by stippling it all over your face and you'll have that air-brushed look.
- fabulous when you're working with very pigmented blush because it distributes the colour evenly and not as harshly onto your cheeks.

next love of mine: the laura mercier slanted blush brush next to the stippling brush.
despite it being made in china [which i've ranted about before],
this is by far my faouritest blush brush.

next love:
the mega powder brush, which is also the biggest one i've got.
this works great with loose powder, pressed powder.
actually got this from muay fan foc.
hahaha.

and guess what?
this brush is brandless??
and is very cheap.
no idea how cheap though.

so i suggest if you're thinking of getting those mac limited edition brush sets,
you might as well get such brandless ones.
they work BETTER!

last love:
the white angled eyeliner brush, which is right in front.
my favouritest kind of eyeliner brush and i got it from makeupgeek.com.

lastly.
i realised i haven't been listening to jay chou's songs in ages.
and i'm MISSING them!!

like why the hell isn't he even bothering to cut an album this year??

this is my third/ fourth bottle already.
i've been sticking to this for say, 3 years?

despite the price, i still say that it's worthwhile using it.
especially since one bottle can last me half a year.
it's 200ml by the way.

i can't exactly pin point why i like this.
i just like it.
jurlique has been the brand i've been faithfully going back to.


there's another version, purifying foaming cleanser.
and that's meant for oilier skin.


[[ kiehl's lip balm in cranberry ]]

mentioned it before.
it has this amazing smell to it.
motivates me to use it.

digression:
was at suntec with muay fan today and badly wanted to have yami yogurt.

guess what?
they had cranberry flavour!!!

i tell you.
it's MEGA nice.
especially with my cranberries as toppings.

hahaha..
i'm so cranberrish-ed today!

let me tell you.
i got the two at great discounts at the kanebo sale.

the red one is like the middle range and retails at $79.
guess how much i got it for?

TWENTY!!
cheap or not??

been using the night version of it for the past half a year.
and this day one is great to use as well.

i love that gel-cream kind of texture.
makes my skin feel real moisturized and good.

as for the white bottle,
it retails at $114 over at the counter [high end product of the brand].
and...

老娘 got it at $30!!!!!!
DIRT CHEAP!!

have yet to used it.
but i suppose i'll love it.

this was what winnie got for me from japan.
saw this on the japanese blog and she commented that it's so good that she has used like more than 10 tubes of this.

remember that i was drooling over that huge 25 liners set?

was msging muay fan telling her that the mufe 25 liners set is in singapore.
and this woman had the cheeks to tell me that she saw the mini version some time back in sephora.

wha lao eh!
now then tell me.

so.
i IMMEDIATELY called sephora and asked if they still had stocks for this.

NO.
they don't.

was damn panicky.
then i called mufe flagship store.

guess what?
only left with one set.

damn.
the moment i heard it's the last set,
i asked the MA "can i reserve?"

anyhow.
the MA was a real nice malay guy.
you know usually when you reserve something, they will let you know when is the latest you've got to pick the item up.

but not for mufe.
in fact, i had to ask him that.

his answer was "you can pick it up any day."

cool right?!
last set also don't have to chiong down!
so shiok!

yesh.
so i picked it up four days later from the flagship store at stamford house.

stupid me.
didn't ask him to open it up to check.
it was only when i got home did i notice how mini they were.

sorry.
i mean TINY.

each liner is only 7cm long, without the cap that is.
and not only are they shorter,
they are slimmer than the full sized versions.

well well..
i shall get over the tiny issue.
no point harping on it anyway.



in each set are five of their most popular colours:
- #0L: matte black
- #2L: pearly brown
- #12L: blue with green highlights
- #4L: shimmery plum
- #23L: champagne




now, for the swatches.
the left column show the swatches on their own.
as for the right column, i layered the blue, and the purple over the black liner respectively.

well.
i tried the matte black one today.

it's not as smooth as mac powerpoint.
just slightly.
and it gives a really intense, solid black, which i am TOTALLY obsessed with.

as for the smudge proof part.
sad to say, it does smudge on me.
a little.

it seems like every liner smudges on me, including liquid liner.
except for mac fluidline which is a gel liner.
so i guess by smudging that bit, it's forgivable.

my say would be that the mufe aqua eyes are worth a try, despite being $32/$33.
btw. the set i got is $75.
given that size.

but before you try that, i thought i better tell you this.
it's confirmed that urban decay is coming to sephora this feb.

*REJOICE*

actually, i would rather they bring in nars first.
but nevertheless, still a great change.

so from urban decay, its raved products are:
1. 24/7 eyeliners [which are supposed to be smudgeproof]
2. eyeshadows [especially its book of shadows]
3. primer potion [eyelid primer]

perhaps you might want to try urban decay 24/7 eyeliners before mufe ones.
whatever it is.
rest assured.
i'm going to chiong to get the 24/7 eyeliner in zero[ matte black]!

i've been wanting to do this post quite some time back,
but it's like damn lay chey.

since deb asked me for tips on makeup organisation,
i shall just get it done.

so here is just my way of organising my cosmetics.
of course, it's actually better for you to work out some form of arrangement which suits you the best.
nevertheless, just a 参考.



here is about 90% of my cosmetics and some of my skincare stuff.
the rest are like in some other cupboards.

obviously i don't have those compartments as they are arranged in the photo.
in fact the snoopy and brown containers are on my dresser, ie. my piano.
haha.
so pathetic right?

anyway.
most of my storage stuff are from ikea.
shall mention where i got those from as i go along.




snoopy holder: universal studio japan
super cute but damn damn expensive!

brown holder: takashimaya, also available in other dept stores.
less than $10 i believe.

so mainly in those holders, i've got my daily essentials like skincare, brushes, hair stuff, tinted moisturizers, pressed powder [great to use when i'm in a hurry] blah blah blah.

and in that juicy couture carrier,
it has got all my makeup pouches in there.




transparent organiser: ikea.
less than $10.

it's very useful and has those plastic pieces so you can compartmentalise your stuff easily.

from top left hand corner, clockwise:
1. eye shadows
2. more eye shadows
3. pigments and falsies
4. palattes, cream eye shadows
5. lip balm/ lipsticks/ lip glosses.

you're going to notice that i still keep my stuff in their original boxes.
i find them easier to locate and god knows which day i want to have them up for a swap.

next.
the wooden mini drawer: ikea, less than $30 if i remember correctly.
got this after i saw xx owning it.

the bad part about this.
you've got to assemble it yourself.
as in those nailing and stuff.




the first tier, left to right:

2. bobbi brown kabuki brush case
3. shu umuera curlers [i'm so loving the mini one!]

totally got no idea why i'm so in love with pink panther.
it seems like nobody ever mentions that they like pink panther.



despite me loving it,
these are probably all i've got of pink panther.
plus some other random stationary i've got, somewhere else.

basically all but the plush toy are from universal studio.
was so excited when i spotted pink panther,
but sadly, not all their merchandise were nice.

can't wait for the one in sg to be open next year.
i pray~~ like crazy that i would be able to take a decent photo with pink panther then.

the only one i took in usj is only meant for me to "欣赏".

the quailty of that photo..

had a great dinner at this GREEN VALLEY FARM.
it's at 1 bah soon pah road which is pretty much opposite sembawang golf & country club.

basically their signature dish is lobster porridge.
the one we had serves 4 and has 6 lobsters in the pot.
if you order it on its own, it's $80.

but we decided to try their 5 courses set dinner at $158.
lobster porridge, steamed fish, chicken, mussels, vege.

i wouldn't say it's a must try..
but if you do want something new, no harm giving it a shot.
though the place is rather ulu.

enough talk about dinner,
we had yet another drinking session and my bro was "so high" that he talked much more tonight than he did the entire week.
haha!

and.
gosh.
i know what song he can sing at ktv already.

super surprisingly, i got them both on within minutes today.
usually, i take like 15 minutes or longer.



these are the ones i used today.
mm.. they're pretty fake looking in the box,
but when worn, they look pretty much like any other falsies.

anyhow, these are recommended by muay fan.
and guess what?
the entire box of 8 pairs costs $4.90 in sasa??

DIRT CHEAP!

what's more?
these falsies can be reused as long as you clean, store them well after every usage.

clean them with a conventional eye makeup remover.
remove the glue, mascara, eyeshadow or eyeliner that somehow got onto them.

store them in their original box to retain their shape.
surely you don't want to wear shapeless falsies.
