it's been a busy day today.
had to rush down to pay the remaining balance for the tour and prepare for ma's cousin's wedding dinner tonight.

the wedding dinner was pretty small scaled compared to the one we went in feb,
but it was very heartwarming.
it's more of a party where everyone could just go everywhere to yam seng with others,
instead of like sitting at their own tables and finish those courses in peace.

i decided to take bus 173 from clementi bus interchange to my piano kids' place today.

and that made me late for lesson for half an hour.

when i went to kids' place, the mum was out shopping, leaving the kids watching tv at home while waiting for me.

so as usual, the younger brother went for lesson first.

he laid on the floor, right next to the carpet and started telling me that he didn't want to play at all, neither did he want to do theory.

actually i wanted to share some interesting stuff that happened on the bus,
but i realised hardly anyone would get what i'm saying..

because of those interesting stuff on the bus, i came home feeling quite alright..
not like super pissed over the whole waiting shit.

anyway, i decided to try highlight my face before i remove my makeup when i was back at home.
was tempted to try that since i watched makeupgeek's video on highlighting, so i thought i could try with this super neglected laneige eye shadow in cream pearl.

yes..
you read it right.
eye shadow as highlighter.

basically you can use eye shadows as blushers/ highlighters, in the correct colours obviously.
use lipsticks/ lip glosses as blushers.
use blushers as lip stuff.

yeup.
be creative!

before i tried that, i practised applying the becca beach tint in watermelon first.
first time using it this afternoon and i couldn't really master the technique of applying.

of course i've mastered it by now and think it's damn user friendly.
don't need brush!
merely use your fingers and dab dab dab!
it's so going with me to japan.

back to the eye shadow highlighter, i thought it was very glittery..
has tons of shimmers in it.

but.
when i took photos of myself [发侨 can or not? ], the highlighter works.
got the glowy effect!

since i'm on this makeup thingy,
i shall share what stuff i use for today.
contrary to beliefs, i don't really use a lot of mac stuff.
i just own many of them.



1. paul and joe moisturizing primer
recommended by kevin on nrwzd and it's not bad.
has tiny tiny shimmers in them.

2. laura mercier concealer
i only thought i dio gong tao for buying that recently.
it's a damn 105rm!

but at least it serves two functions:
one to conceal face, the other to conceal dark circles.

3. mac mystery powder [ie pressed powder] with that gold coloured brush
i don't quite like this as i feel that it gives a powdery finish.
nevertheless, i'm using for the sake of getting rid of it.

what's more?
i've got a refill for that.

4. mac brow pencil in brunette [which isn't in the photo]
i hate my brows and my brow drawing skill sucks.
so i opt for bangs to "conceal" them.

good idea right?
haha!

5. too faced eye shadow insurance
it does help quite a bit in preventing smudges.

6. bobbi brown gel liner in graphite
i did mention that i don't like this as it smudges on me.
but now with too faced, it's pretty alright.

the colour is very nice.
black with hell lots of shimmers.

7. becca beach tint in watermelon
surprisingly, it really has a watermelon smell to it!

8. laneige one colour eyeshadow in cream pearl
i got this with agnes lo..
haha!

in case you're wondering,
yes..
i didn't put on any tinted moisturizer [use it in replacement of liquid foundation] today.
just mystery powder.

now.
what i want to emphasize on is the eyeliner.
have you realised that the trend now is gel liner??

pencil is the easiest to master, but it's smudges easily, at least on me.
if i blink too much right, i find that the line i've drawn with the pencil will kinda fade off.

gel liner is more 耐 than pencil, slightly harder to master, but still easier as compared to liquid.

my favourite would of course be liquid.
it's the most smudge proof, but of course it depends on what brands of liquid liner you buy.

the kate one i got is well on its way to the incinerator.
personal favourite would be mac's liquidlast.

back to the gel liner.

i always update myself with the tutorials done by makeupgeek.
and she always uses this sonia kashuk bent eyeliner brush to apply gel liner.
that brush looks like it's damn user friendly!

so i bought one for about $28 from her website.
and it arrived today.

obviously i 颇不期待 and immediately tried it out.
well..
my review is that it's not bad and makes lining your eyes pretty easy.

but.
honestly, i don't see much difference between this bent one and the mac one i've been using all along.



just so that you can see the difference between the two brushes.

the mac one is limited edition and it's actually a lip brush.
haha..

i told you that you can be versatile when it comes to makeup right??
anyway, muay fan was the one who recommended me to use it as liner brush.

different brands actually have different liner brushes.
for eg mac's one is angled brush, whereas bobbi brown and shu uemera's ones look like the mac lip brush i'm using.
and benefit's one looks like the bent one i got online if i'm not wrong.

so if you ask me, i would recommend a brush of the mac lip brush shape for liners.
also, i use that mac lip brush with my liquid liner as well,
because sometimes the brush that comes with the liquid liner tends to give me a very rigid line which i don't like.

duh?

oh.
one very good tip on how to fix your eyeliner when you make a mistake [ie. there's a blotch on the eyelid blah blah],
simply use a cotton bud, dip it into any eye makeup remover you've got and clean the blotch off.
it's kinda like a eraser.

mm.. the dipping part isn't exactly necessary if your liner isn't waterproof/ oil proof/ smudge proof.
just dip if you really can't correct your mistake merely with a cotton bud.

yeup.
so that's about all i want to share today.
hopefully it proves to be informative and encouraging enough for you to hit the stores and get a gel liner to try it for yourself!

even the capsicum didn't taste like capsicum and was rather nice..

it turned out to be too sweet in the long run.

i had to order a bowl of plain rice to go with the noodles..
of course i didn't finish the noodles..
really way toooo 甜!

i ordered this peach juice.
tmd sweet again.
but the can is damn cute looking!




as for xf's cold noodles, i thought the soup tasted like ah char.

so bascially, it's sour, sweet tasting.

because it's mothers' day today, i went out shopping with becca and winnie in search of presents for our mums and ah ma.

before i go on about the shopping,
was out with ma yesterday when we saw people buying flowers from a florist.

then it brought back this particular memory in primary school.
and i couldn't stop laughing when i was narrating to ma.

what happened then was there was this year, can't remember if it's p5 or p6, i decided to buy a bouquet of flowers for ma for mothers' day.

i happily went to this florist near my school with my bestie then, binglin.
but the thing was, if i were to buy flowers on the actual day, they would be too ex for me to buy.

so... i cleverly told binglin "eh.. i buy the flowers today [which was like a few days ahead of mothers' day]. you bring it home for me can??"

he agreed and really brought the flowers home.
he did feedback to me that his mum thought those flowers were for her.
hahaha..
sorry aunty.. you must be really disappointed.

anyhow, on the actual day, i went to meet him to collect my flowers.
guess what?
the bouquet looked rather crumpled and i got pissed off and told him off.

but what made it worse was i had to squash that bouquet into my backpack so that i could give ma a surprise.

muay fan didn't fly my kite yesterday.
basically, we sat down, had dinner and talked non stop.

just like yesterday, i was online before i went to bed.
so when i'm online, i would sometimes glance through those people online and at times i would just so happened to pay more attention to somebody [anyone at random].

for eg, say i noticed that X is online.

then right..
that very night, i would dream of X!

and this type of thing has already happened a few times.

xf came to my hse for the first time today.
i told her to give me a morning call when she boards the train at tpy, but god knows why she couldn't get through my house phone and my hp was still off.

when she finally got through, she told me she was in yishun already.
i was like wth?!

totally didn't believe her because i was expecting her to come btw 9-10am, but it was only like atmost 8.30am.
only knew she wasn't lying when i heard the announcement "next stop. sembawang."

anyway, she came over to have her first "elementary makeup session" with me.

xf was the first to see my newly extended blush collection!

back to the session, she actually managed to line her eyes with pencil liner at the very first attempt.

after that, we went cwp to have lunch and 顺便 shop shop a bit.
because john little was having 20% off loreal stuff and extra 20% off for card members,
i decided to buy that white perfect radiance boosting double essence which was like highly recommended by 老牛.

despite forgetting to bring my card, i got that extra 20% off coz i got xf to sign up for the membership!
hahaha!

so.. it was really a fab buy！
i hope it works like what 老牛 said, with its special 碧希石 [don't know written if it's correctly].
i will use it tonight!

also, i got a pink polka dot top.
hahaha.

more on my coming japan trip.

xf will be going to truly asia in early june and she asked if the clinic downstairs has flu vaccination.
but it was out of stock!!

so i told ma about that and she asked me how because the whole family is going for it.

so i emailed her to get her to do some recommendation of must gets in japan.
she's really nice and did recommend me some stuff.

did nail art on all my ten toe nails on impulse during pedi last friday.
my first time painting my nails black.
very su ku hor??

was like super glad that my regular manicurist is back from maternal leave.
that toe that has ingrown nail would probably die without her.

did i mention this?
the other time she was on maternal leave, i got this other manicurist who didn't seem to be aware that i was in fucking great pain lar.

now that i've typed that out, i think i did mention it before.

i've typed the story out already.

next would be my loot today.
i realised i bought like quite a fair bit of stuff today only when i started emptying my eco bag.

she did msg me yesterday to inform me.

i was like finally earlier than her today, so i went tangs on my own first.

suzan: the beauty powder, and the gel blush. dazzleglass [a separate collection] is also here.

i: nah.. not interested in dazzleglass. but isn't the beauty powder very sheer??

ok.
i learnt something new today.
all along i thought beauty powder = blusher.

wrong!
it's actually a finishing powder which can be used as blusher if you really want to.
in this case, both colours are damn sheer till it hardly shows up on my hand.

so suzan use the one in blush of youth as finishing powder on me and she said it actually makes one's face glow and to her, it suited me.

honestly.
老娘肉眼是看不出什么分别啦.
but still, it's mine now because i trust her.

next she tried on the gel blush on me and the moment i looked into the mirror,
i was like.. "oh mo?!! 这也太~~漂亮了吧??"

then i turned and exchanged looks with miss sui.
the next moment, she exclaimed "sui leh!!??"

was like "YES!!! SUPER~~~~~~ SUI!!!"

then miss sui said that the see thru lip colour wouldn't like fade off and stuff, so i decided to get one as well.
the colour is called secret crush!
hahaha.

as promised, i got at most 3 items and spent less than $120.
$105 to be exact.

after the mac thingy, we went topshop to get a pair of shorts that xf wanted before going for lunch.
lunch was to be at soup spoon.

i'm so addicted to it ever since my previous visit there last saturday.
their mushroom pesto is freaking nice!!

after lunch, we walked to OG which was having sales.
and i got a pierre cardin wallet for my bro as his bdae is coming up soon.
that's despite me being very fed up with him recently.

i'm such a nice sister.

then, we strolled to ps just because i wanted to check out if that sanrio store has the makeup pouch i wanted.

it's revlon colourstay liquid eyeliner.
it was recommended by muay fan, so i got it during a metro sale.
quite cheap, about $15 after 20%.

anyway, i tried it today.
i must say the felt tip applicator makes lining your eye easy, but i don't like the part about the colour not being " uniformly" spread.
it's quite difficult for me to explain that part about uniform.
so ask me if you really want to then.

other than the part about the uniformity of the colour,
it stays on well, hardly any smudges.
surprisingly, it came off easily with eye makeup remover.

so.. overall if mac's liquidlast is 8.5/ 10, i would give this one 7/10.
i've seen worse liquid eyeliner than this.
eg: kate??
